Description:AGL-2263 is a monocarboxylic acid that has been shown to have time-dependent and site-specific effects on glycogen metabolism. This drug inhibits the activity of glycogen synthase and glycogen synthase kinase, which are enzymes that catalyze the formation of glycogen from glucose. AGL-2263 also inhibits 3T3-L1 cells proliferation in culture, which may be due to its ability to induce receptor β downregulation. The mechanism of this drug's effect on cellular proliferation is not yet known.
