2'(3')-O-(4-Benzoyl)benzoyladenosine-5'-triphosphate triethylammonium salt (BAPTA-TEA) is a fluorescent dye that can be used for the identification of acetylcholine subunits in the brain. It has been shown to enhance the activity of astroglia and regulatory T cells, and inhibit the release of proinflammatory cytokines from monocytes. BAPTA-TEA also has an inhibitory effect on endoplasmic reticulum calcium release, which may contribute to its regulatory effects on inflammatory processes.
