N4-Benzoyl-2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-cytidine 3'-thiophosphoramidite is a novel nucleoside that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. It is an analogue of cytidine and inhibits DNA synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which converts ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides. This drug also inhibits the synthesis of viral RNA in cells infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). N4-Benzoyl-2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-cytidine 3'-thiophosphoramidite is a phosphoramidite that is synthesized from 2,4,6-trichlorobenzoyl chloride, 5'-O-[(N,N-diisoprop
