Description:N-Boc-5'-chloro-5'-deoxy-2,3-O-isopropylideneadenosine is a novel nucleoside phosphoramidite. It is synthesized by the reaction of 5'-chloro-5'-deoxyadenosine with 2,3-O-isopropylideneadenosine in the presence of tetrazole and triethylammonium tetrafluoroborate. This compound has been shown to be an activator against the ribonucleotide reductase enzyme, which is involved in the synthesis of DNA. N-Boc-5'-chloro-5'-deoxyadenosine also has antiviral activity against human cytomegalovirus and influenza A virus.
