N6-Benzoyl-5'-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl-2'-deoxyadenosine is an anti-cancer drug that is used to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in human leukemia cells and may be a novel anticancer agent. This compound has also been shown to have antiviral activity against HIV, herpes simplex virus type 2, hepatitis B virus, and influenza A virus. N6-Benzoyl-5'-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl-2'-deoxyadenosine is phosphoramidites are synthesized by treatment of 2'-deoxyadenosine with diphosphate in the presence of trimethylammonium tetrafluoroborate or hexafluoroantimonate. The final product contains a benzoyl moiety on the 6' position and a tertiary butyl group
