Transition state theory was used to calculate the activation energy for this reaction, which is an input parameter for a kinetic equation. These calculations were done using the data from these experiments and theoretical values for the equilibrium constant and rate constant. This product has been shown to have an activation energy of 3.2 kcal/mol and a rate constant of 1.5×10^4 M^-1s^-1 in its transition from one rotamer to another.
