DMAC-SPP is a potent, selective activator of the NaV1.8 ion channel. DMAC-SPP is an inhibitor of protein interactions and receptor signaling. It has been shown that DMAC-SPP may be a ligand for the neuropeptide Y receptor (NpyR) and activate the NpyR through binding to its extracellular domain. DMAC-SPP has also been shown to inhibit the activation of L-type calcium channels by interfering with voltage sensor movement.
