Product Information

- 2-Cido
- 2-Chloro-D-inosine
2-Chloroinosine is a xanthosine analog with a neutral pH. It reacts with nitrous acid and amines to form adducts that are stable at neutral pH. The nitro group of the 2-chloroinosine reacts with acetyl chloride to form the corresponding chloroacetyl derivative, which then reacts with an amine to form an acylated derivative. This reaction can be used as a means to prepare other xanthosines and analogs, such as 2-chloropurine riboside, in which the purine ring is substituted by a pyrimidine ring.
