It has been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. 5'-O-DMT-5-[N-(2-(trifluoroacetamido)ethyl)-3-E-acrylamido]-2'-deoxyuridine was found to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cells, human colon cancer cells, and human prostate cancer cells.
