Product Information
2'-Deoxy-2',2'-difluoro-a-uridine is a nucleoside analog that is synthesized from 2'-deoxy-2',2'-difluoro-a-thymidine. It has been shown to be an activator of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and induce apoptosis in cancer cells. This compound also inhibits the replication of influenza virus, HIV, and herpes simplex virus. The antiviral activity of this drug has been demonstrated in vivo against murine cytomegalovirus (MCMV) infection. 2'-Deoxy-2',2'-difluoro-a-uridine is able to inhibit viral RNA transcription by binding to the active site of the enzyme RNA polymerase II.
