3'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-3'-C-methyluridine is an activator of DNA synthesis, which can be used to synthesize deoxyribonucleosides and ribonucleosides. 3'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-3'-C-methyluridine has been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. It is a novel synthetic monophosphate nucleoside that can be modified for use as a phosphoramidite or a ribonucleoside. 3'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-3'-C-methyluridine has also been shown to have antiviral activity against HIV in vitro.
