Description:2'-Deoxy-6-hydroxycytidine is an antiviral agent that inhibits the synthesis of DNA, RNA and protein. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of HIV in cell culture and in animal models. 2'-Deoxy-6-hydroxycytidine has also been shown to have anticancer effects. This drug is synthesized by reacting a nucleoside with a diphosphate or monophosphate phosphoramidite. The chemical name for 2'-deoxy-6-hydroxycytidine is 6-[(2R,4S)-4-(dimethylamino)butanoyl]aminopurine riboside monophosphate.
