2'-Deoxy-2',2'-difluoro-5-methyluridine (DMTU) is a novel nucleoside that has antiviral and anticancer properties. DMTU is a nucleoside that binds to the DNA strand, preventing RNA polymerase from transcribing the viral genome. It also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis. DMTU is available as a phosphoramidite and can be synthesized in high purity with CAS number 95058-80-3.
