Description:Mogroside I A1 is a natural sweetener with the chemical name of (2S,3S,4R,5R)-2-hydroxy-3,4-dimethoxybenzoic acid. It is found in the leaves and bark of the Chinese herb "Manglietia yunnanensis" and can be isolated from these sources by hydrolysis. Mogroside I A1 has been shown to inhibit cytochrome P450 hydroxylase activity in rat liver cells and also inhibits potassium ion uptake in rat kidney cells. Mogroside I A1 is biosynthesized from mogrosides by recombinant E. coli cells that have been genetically modified to express the "mogrosidase" enzyme. This product contains no preservatives or artificial colors.
