Description:ML224 is a ryanodine receptor antagonist that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cardiac disease. ML224 is a selective, competitive antagonist of the ryanodine receptor. It blocks calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, which leads to decreased intracellular calcium concentrations and reduced contractility. This drug has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting IL-10 production. ML224 has also been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity, leading to increased acetylcholine levels at synapses in the central and peripheral nervous systems. This may contribute to its ability to increase blood pressure and heart rate.
