Pasakbumin B is a quassinoid that has been shown to reduce blood pressure and promote cancer cell death. Pasakbumin B has been shown to induce apoptosis in mcf-7 cells through the activation of the caspase cascade, which is an intracellular signaling pathway involved in programmed cell death. This compound was found to increase the expression of pro-apoptotic proteins such as BAX and p53, leading to the induction of apoptosis in cells. Pasakbumin B also has been shown to decrease the viability of breast cancer cells by inhibiting their proliferation and increasing their sensitivity to chemotherapy treatments.
Pasakbumin B has not yet been studied for its safety in humans or animals.
