Product Information
5-(2-Hydroxyethyl)uridine (5HUdR) is a nucleoside that is structurally related to uridine. 5HUdR has been used as an analogue of uridine and has been shown to be catalytically hydrogenated with acrylonitrile in the presence of a palladium catalyst. 5HUdR can also be synthesized by photochemical hydrogenation with trimethylsilyl derivatives. This compound is a functional group in the synthesis of 2-deoxyuridine, which is an important precursor for DNA synthesis.
