Description:
1-Decyl-3-methylimidazolium Bromide is a cationic surfactant that has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial agent against Gram-positive bacteria. 1-Decyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide binds to the ribosomal RNA of the bacteria, which prevents the initiation of protein synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth. 1-Decyl-3-methylimidazolium Bromide is also used as a biocide in wastewater treatment and can be used for dry weight determination.
