Description:
2-(2-Methoxyethyl)pyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde is a modified nucleoside that has been shown to be an effective antiviral and anticancer agent. This compound inhibits viral replication by blocking the synthesis of viral DNA, and also exhibits cytotoxic activity against cancer cells. 2-(2-Methoxyethyl)pyrimidine-5-carbaldehyde is an activator of ribonucleotide reductase and deoxyribonucleotide reductase and can be used in the synthesis of nucleosides, DNA, or phosphoramidites.
