This chemical is also an activator of Protein Kinase A, which is involved in the regulation of many cellular processes. 4-(Benzo[b]thiophen-2-yl)-3-bromo-5-hydroxydihydrofuran-2(3H)-one is a ligand for Beta1 adrenergic receptors and can be used as a research tool to study protein interactions, receptor activation, and ion channels.
