Product Information
Taniborbactam (TB) is a novel, potent inhibitor of bacterial cell wall biosynthesis. It binds to the active site of penicillin-binding protein 2A, which is required for peptidoglycan cross-linking and assembly. TB has been shown to be effective in treating infections caused by E. cloacae, S. maltophilia, and P. aeruginosa strains with high MIC values, including those resistant to carbapenems and polymyxins. The drug is also effective against infections due to multidrug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria such as Enterococcus faecium and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
