OD 36 is an anti-VEGF compound that is used as a diagnostic tool to detect the presence of VEGF in the eye. It is also used for intravitreal injection to treat retinal disorders such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. OD 36 has been shown to be resistant to surfactants, making it suitable for use in aqueous solutions. This chemical does not have any intrinsic anti-oxidant properties, but can be stabilized by the addition of other anti-oxidants. OD 36 is insoluble in water and should be stored at low temperatures to prevent precipitation. OD 36 has shown no immunogenicity or toxicity in animals, although it may cause pigmentosa when injected into the eye.
