Product Information
LW 479 is an experimental drug that belongs to the class of chloroquines. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to chloroquine, its active form. LW 479 has shown synergistic effects with other pharmacological agents, such as adenosine A3 receptor agonists and surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate. The solubility of LW 479 is pH-dependent and high at alkaline pH. The solubility of LW 479 was increased by adding a buffer or surfactant to the solution, which may be due to the decrease in ionic strength caused by these compounds. This drug has been shown to have therapeutic effects against chronic arthritis and infectious diseases, such as malaria and leishmaniasis, by blocking the activation of jak2 v617f gene.
