Product Information
2,4,6-Trichloro-5-methylpyrimidine is a chemical compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cultured cells and neuronal death in rats. It binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and activates the caspases cascade. Trichloro-5-methylpyrimidine has also been shown to inhibit cell proliferation by binding to proteins involved in transcriptional regulation and protein synthesis. This drug may be more effective at treating cancer than other compounds because it induces apoptosis rather than necrosis. Trichloro-5-methylpyrimidine has also been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
