4-O-(2-Acetamido-2-deoxy-3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-b-D-glucopyranosyl)-1,6-di-O-benzyl-2-deoxy--aDmuramic acid methyl ester is a synthetic carbohydrate. It is a modification of an oligosaccharide and can be used as a starting material in the synthesis of complex carbohydrates. 4ODBGMEM is synthesized by acetylation of 1,6 di O benzyl 2 deoxy a D muramic acid methyl ester with acetic anhydride and triethylamine. The compound has been shown to be effective in fluoroquinolone resistance and methicillin resistance.
