Product Information
- CMGCD
Carboxymethyl-gamma-cyclodextrin sodium salt (CMCDS) is a chiral aminosteroid with a molecular weight of 599.6 and an enantiopurity of 99.8%. It has been shown to be highly selective for the nerve and muscle nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, and has been used as a competitive inhibitor in the preparation of stereoisomers. CMCDS has also been used in clinical monitoring, especially for nerve and muscle blockers. This compound binds to the receptor site on the surface of the nerve or muscle cell, which prevents acetylcholine from binding and stimulates the nerve or muscle to contract. CMCDS is not active against other types of receptors that are present in other organs, such as serotonin receptors in the brain.
