Fluorescein-b-cyclodextrin is a fluorescent cyclodextrin derivative used in the study of methylation and glycosylation reactions. It is synthesized by reacting fluorescein with b-cyclodextrin, followed by click modification of the reaction products. Fluorescein-b-cyclodextrin has been shown to be a useful probe for the detection of saccharide and polysaccharide modifications. This compound also has a high degree of purity, which makes it suitable for use as a calibration standard.
