Ginsenoside Rk1 has also been shown to inhibit the growth of xenograft tumor cells in mice. The drug is not well absorbed by the body, with a reported bioavailability of less than 10%. This may be due to its hydroxyl group and aminotransferase activity. Ginsenoside Rk1 has also been shown to inhibit colon cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo.
