Gly-Leu is a cyclic peptide that was originally isolated from human serum. It has been shown to have antibiotic activity against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This drug also inhibits the enzyme activities of trifluoroacetic acid, sodium citrate, and calcium binding. Gly-Leu has been shown to have anti-tumour properties in vivo by inhibiting the growth of carcinoma cell lines and inducing apoptosis in these cells. It also has immunomodulatory effects on autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis.
