Product Information
Luteolin-7-O-neohesperidoside is a flavonoid found in Pueraria lobata and Carthamus tinctorius. It has been shown to have a hypoglycemic effect in diabetic mice. Luteolin-7-O-neohesperidoside also has antioxidant properties and can protect cells from radiation damage by scavenging reactive oxygen species. Luteolin-7-O-neohesperidoside also inhibits the activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and subsequently inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, thereby reducing inflammation in adipose tissue. The compound has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential, which may be due to its ability to bind to cardiolipin. This activity has been shown to lead to an increase in intracellular calcium levels, resulting in increased insulin secretion from pancreatic β cells.
