Product Information
- Hexakis-(6-O-acetyl)-a-cyclodextrin
Monoacetyl-a-cyclodextrin is a water-soluble cyclic oligosaccharide that is synthesized by the reaction of acetyl chloride with a cyclodextrin. It has been modified with an acetyl group at the 1-position, or in some cases, at the 2-position. The acetyl groups on this compound can be fluorinated or methylated. Glycosylation and glycosidic modification are both possible, as well as esterification of the hydroxyl groups on the ring. This compound is used as a chemical intermediate in various industries, including pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Monoacetyl-a-cyclodextrin is also used for its ability to modify polysaccharides with saccharide groups.
