Robinin is a growth factor-β (GF-β) that is structurally similar to insulin. It has been shown to have in vitro assays, such as electrochemical detection, and in vivo assays such as animal models of metabolic disorders. Robinin can be used as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including diabetes mellitus and obesity. This compound has been shown to stimulate the release of growth hormone through activation of toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) in cardiomyocytes.
