Succinyl-(2-hydroxypropyl)-a-cyclodextrin is a glycosylation agent that is used to modify the surface of proteins and polysaccharides. It can be used to protect against proteases, increase water solubility, improve stability in acidic environments, or alter immunogenicity. Succinyl-(2-hydroxypropyl)-a-cyclodextrin has been shown to react with the methyl group of glycosyls to produce mono-, di-, and tri-methylated derivatives. This product can also be fluorinated or saccharified for use in other applications.
