Description:Tetra-O-acetyl-3-O-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-b-D-glucopyranosyl)-D-glucopyranose is a covalently bound glycoside of benzoic acid and glucose. It can be obtained by the chemical catalysis of clostridium in an acetate medium. The reaction produces a tetrasaccharide with three acetate groups at C2, C3 and C6. This compound has shown to have antimicrobial activity against Clostridium licheniformis and Clostridium butyricum.
