Tomatine is a steroid alkaloid that has been shown to have cytotoxic effects on colorectal adenocarcinoma cells. Tomatine is a natural product found in plants, and it has been shown to have biological properties that are related to detoxification enzymes. Tomatine also has high resistance to cancer cells and can be used as an adjuvant therapy for the treatment of colorectal adenocarcinoma. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and can inhibit the activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in autoimmune diseases. This drug also inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential, which may lead to apoptosis.
