Description:Substrate for proglutamyl peptidase 1. 2-naphthylamide is released upon hydrolysation. By simultainous coupling with a diazonium salt, the corresponding azo dye is formed. Naphthylamide can also be detected by fluorescence analysis. Used in identification of Enterococcus spp. and group A streptococci (Streptococcus pyogenes).
