N4-Benzoyl-2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-cytidine 3'-CE phosphoramidite also has antiviral properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit viral protein synthesis. This compound has been shown to be effective against herpes simplex type 1 and 2 viruses (HSV1 and HSV2).
