Acetaminophen-d4 is a synthetic derivative of acetaminophen. It is used as an analytical standard in the quantification of acetaminophen glucuronide, which is a metabolite of acetaminophen in urine samples. Acetaminophen-d4 can be prepared by reacting diazotized acetaminophen with 4-methylphenyl chloroformate and subsequently coupling with 1,2-dimethoxybenzene. Acetaminophen-d4 is stable under normal laboratory conditions and can be stored for up to 6 months at -20°C. Acetaminophen-d4 has been detected in human liver, urine, plasma, and other biological fluids. It can be used as an analytical tool for detecting the concentration of acetaminophen glucuronide in urine samples, which may help to evaluate the urinary excretion of this drug.
