Product Information

Name:
1-Pyrenedecanoic acid
Synonyms:
  • 10-(Pyren-1-Yl)Decanoic Acid
Description:

1-Pyrenedecanoic acid is a lipid that is found in the mitochondria of rat liver cells. It has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential, which affects the production of ATP and reactive oxygen species. 1-Pyrenedecanoic acid also inhibits enzyme activity in rat liver microsomes, which may be due to its ability to form an acid and cause a conformational change in the enzymes. This lipid has also been shown to affect calcium signaling in cardiac and liver cells as well as cell proliferation in tissue culture models. The optimum pH for 1-pyrenedecanoic acid is 7.0 and it has a molecular weight of 292.14 g/mol.
