Isoxazole-5-carboxamide also inhibits the inflammatory response in experimental models of human diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. This drug has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the proteasome in cardiac muscle cells and is being investigated for its potential use in treating heart failure.
