This inhibition results in increased levels of endocannabinoids, which are known to reduce pain and inflammation. Isoxazolo[5,4-c]pyridin-3-amine has been shown to be effective against a number of FAAH inhibitors, including other inhibitors such as URB597 and JZL184. These compounds have also been shown to produce analgesic effects in mice by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and IL-1β.
