It can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and induce cell apoptosis by interfering with the synthesis of DNA, RNA and protein. Fmoc morpholino uridine monomer has been shown to be active against viruses, such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), herpes simplex virus (HSV) and influenza A virus. This compound is also reported to have antiviral activity against HIV-1 in vitro and HSV-2 in vivo.
