Product Information

Name:
5-Bromo-2-fluorobenzene sulfonamide
Description:

5-Bromo-2-fluorobenzene sulfonamide is a potent allosteric modulator of the glutamate receptor. It binds to the same site as the endogenous neurotransmitter glutamate, and inhibits ionotropic glutamate receptors.

5-Bromo-2-fluorobenzene sulfonamide has been shown to be effective in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease. This compound may have therapeutic potential for neurological disorders that are caused by ionotropic glutamate receptor dysfunction. 5-Bromo-2-fluorobenzene sulfonamide also has been used as a probe for investigating the role of ionotropic glutamate receptors in neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity.
