Description:
Golexanolone is a drug that belongs to the class of chemokine receptor antagonists. It is an activator of the c-c chemokine receptor and has been shown to inhibit bacterial translocation in animal models. Golexanolone has also been shown to have anticancer and anti-inflammatory effects in animals, as well as the potential for treatment of depression. This drug is currently undergoing clinical trials for cancer patients with liver cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma.
