Product Information
Taxus is a genus of coniferous trees in the family Taxaceae. The most notable species in this genus is the Pacific Yew, which is used to produce taxol. 13-Deacetyltaxachitriene A belongs to the group of natural products that are found in the bark of these trees. It has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis and cell division by binding to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA, leading to cell death by inhibiting production of proteins vital for cell division. 13-Deacetyltaxachitriene A also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
