It is an effective inhibitor of murine leukemia, and has been shown to have efficacy against human leukemia cells in vitro. 3-Iodo-7-nitro-1H-indazole has been shown to inhibit the growth of L1210 murine leukemia cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis and cell cycle progression.
