Product Information

Name:
CID-1067700
Synonyms:
  • 2-(Benzoylcarbamothioylamino)-5,5-dimethyl-4,7-dihydrothieno[2,3-c]pyran-3-carboxylic acid
Description:

CID-1067700 is a small molecule that is able to inhibit the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) and effector proteins. This drug has been shown to be active against wild-type strains of bacteria, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis. CID-1067700 also inhibits autophagy in mycobacteria, which may be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of mycobacterial infections. It has been shown to reduce ischemic brain damage in mice and may have therapeutic potential for stroke patients. CID-1067700 binds to the ubiquitin ligase Rsp5 and inhibits its ability to activate transcription factors that regulate cell cycle progression. This inhibition of transcriptional regulation leads to apoptosis, or programmed cell death.
