The synthesis of this compound is carried out by coupling a cytidine derivative with fluorescein and the phosphoramidite of the corresponding ribonucleotide. OBEA-Fluorescein-2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-cytidine 3'CE amidite has antiviral activity against DNA viruses, such as hepatitis B virus and human immunodeficiency virus, as well as RNA viruses, such as influenza A virus. This compound also has antiinflammatory activities.
