- [Ala11,D-Leu15]-Orexin B
- (Ala11,D-Leu15)-Orexin B (Human)
Orexin B is a peptide that belongs to the orexin family and is used in research. It has been shown to bind to orexin receptors, which are G-protein coupled receptors. Orexin B activates these receptors and is an activator of Ligand-gated ion channels such as NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors. It also binds with high affinity to the human M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor and inhibits Ca2+ currents in neuronal cells. Orexin B is also a ligand for the L1 class of immunoglobulin superfamily cell adhesion molecules, which are involved in cell biology.
