Product Information
Longiferone B is a flavonoid derived from rhizomes and has been shown to have ulcerative and colitis suppressive effects in animal models. Longiferone B also inhibits the production of TNF-α, which is an inflammatory cytokine that promotes inflammation by binding to its receptor on cells. Longiferone B has been shown to inhibit colonic inflammation in mice, as well as inhibiting the production of other pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and IL-12p40. This drug also inhibits the transcription of inflammatory genes such as COX2, iNOS, and IL-1β. It is believed that this activity may be due to the ability of longifolrone B to bind to and stabilize the transcription factor NFkappaB.
